Gleaning the Harvest is a single mother support site that my mother and father started back in December. There are moms all over the country, like Miss Vicki, who is struggling to keep her girls at home and not have to go and get a job. Could you help her at all? She is trying to home school her two daughters, while still trying to pay her bills. She wants to stay home. Could you help her make this happen?
What about Mrs. Lirette and her two girls? Mr. Lirette was killed in a drunk driving accident last May, on Mother’s Day. Here is part of the story she tells on her page at GTH – “A 21 year old drunk driver, who was also on drugs, crossed the center line, hitting Elgin head on. Elgin was carrying 2 1/2 tons of offshore oilfield equipment which slammed into the back of his truck’s cab, splitting his head open and killing him. Both vehicles burst into flames, burning both bodies beyond recognition. That was the beginning of my “nightmare.”“
Miss Charlene is also trying to home school her two young boys to lead a better life for the Lord. She tells a little about her former life in her story – “I was married for four years, and I found out my ex husband was unfaithful while I was pregnant with my youngest son, Brady. He did not make any effort to save the marriage at all, and I found myself as a single mom to two little boys at 22. We had no financial support from the start and barely any contact from him at all.”
Mrs. Lizzie is the newest young mother that we are trying to help out on Gleaning The Harvest. Her husband, Lee, is incarcerated. You can read her entire story here – Mrs. Lizzie Norris & James. But here is a little bit about the condition of today - “Today, Lizzie and James are home, trusting in the LORD to provide for them and keep them in Him. Lizzie provides for and home schools James and lives as a single mother, yet she is still wife to Lee.”
Your support of any of these mothers would be an answer to prayers. Putting their icon and the GTH icon on your blog also would help others to see their needs. Posting and tweeting about GTH will also help to spread the news around. Every Dollar Is An Answer to Prayer.

Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
I hope you have enjoyed reading the thoughts and happenings of a fifteen-year-old girl from the country. “You can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens you!” Philippians 4:13

Hi Miss Rachel,
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. Of course, I would be HAPPY for you to use Wednesday in the Word as a Meme on your blog! I thought a title like that would help me stay accountable to posting once a week about our Bible reading! I’ll look forward to reading your Wednesday in the Word posts!
