I noticed my blog was a little… shall we say… been neglected for the past week or so? So… after someone mentioned something about pizza dough I opted to post it. :) I had intended to post the easiest recipe for pizza dough I’ve tried yet – you can whip it up in about five minutes in the processor and about ten by hand. It’s very simple and so good! So… here’s to those who want to try it. I’ll have to get a photo when I make pizza again, as I don’t have one right now. :) But enjoy anyways, and be sure to let me know if you try it.
Easy-Smeasy Pizza Dough
1-1/2 cups all purpose flour*
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup whole milk
1/4 cup water
2 tbsps. olive oil
1-1/2 tsps. active dry yeast
cornmeal for dusting
In food processor {or bowl if you’re mixing by hand} mix together flour, sugar and salt, pulsing five seconds to combine. Heat milk, water and oil in a small saucepan over medium low heat just until very warm {don’t let it scald.} When warm, remove from heat, and sprinkle yeast over it, and let stand until bubbly, about five minutes. Then with processor going, in a steady stream through the feed tube, feed liquid into dry until it forms a ball about the blade. {This should only take about 25-30 seconds.} When made into a ball, remove from processor, and knead until smooth and elastic, about five minutes. Then place in a lightly greased bowl, and let rise 30 minutes covered with a towel in warm place. When risen, sprinkle cornmeal on greased baking sheet {I never greased it before the cornmeal}. Then press the dough into a 16-17 inch circle and place on baking sheet. Add topping and bake until puffed and golden brown.
*I liked substituting 1/2 cup of whole wheat for the all-purpose for a better taste if you’re a whole wheat fan like me. :)
So, let me know how you like it. :)
shalom!

Oh I am too… I should have posted it a long time ago when I found it. You’ll love it when you try it. I personally like the whole wheat version better than the all purpose. Whole wheat makes everything better, if you ask me. :) I have some other recipes in my category, like homemade raised doughnuts, crackers and some other bread ones. :) I also have some just different ones that might interest you, since you said you like to cook and bake. :)
