fire in the horizon
A day at the soccer field for a picnic and some baseball ended with a beautiful sunset.
Absolutely stunning.
We were so busy playing and eating that
I didn’t think to get the camera out when we were eating and playing baseball,
but when I saw the sunset,
I knew I wanted a photo of it.
Anyone ever marvel at their being fire in the horizon?
I do; every time I look at the sunset or the sunrise,
I see fire in it every time I see it,
and I am amazed.
the trees all turn darker,
and the orange light comes through their branches.
the hills get rosy pink,
and the clouds are tinged with it too.
some clouds turn yellow or ochre-coloured.
the trees make a stark contrast with the brilliance of the sky.
and they are a perfect time for accidental silhouettes.
and the moon was visible as well.
rising out of the east sky,
it always makes me smile when the sun and the moon
are in the sky at the same time.

Those are stunning photos, Ra’chel!! You have a good eye for great pictures! I absolutely LOVE sunset and silhouette photos. The colour turned out really good in your sunset photos too – did you touch them up, or were they naturally that pretty??

That’s amazing! In some ways I hate the way people change SOOO much on their photos so often – it takes the art out of taking photos and into how good we can make it look using photo editing programs. I try to leave my photos as natural as possible – sounds like you do too – good on you!! :)

Yes, that is exactly what I try to do. I hate it when people take photos and make them look unnatural… they make them look terible if they don’t edit them correctly. I’m not expert at editing, but I do like to think that I do a good job on editing mine. :)
