Young Maiden’s Daybook  | A City On A Hill

Young Maiden’s Daybook

For today… Monday, January 25th, 2010. Its late but hey, I thought I would post it anyhow. :)

Outside my window… I can’t see anything, since I’m doing this so late. Its pitch black out. :/

I am thinking… that I have lots of stuff to do – writing, cleaning, packing, helping… oh so much!

I am thankful… that I have such a loving and wonderful family.

I am wearing… a blue ankle-length skirt with a brown shirt that has Farm Girl written in pink on the front. (Suits me don’t you think?)

I am reading… Nothing, currently, though I should pick up a book sometime and read it. :) I’ve not sat and read for a good long time, you know.

I am creating… well, trying to create, a more organized home. Moving is no fun, you know.

One of my favorite things… planting and watering garden plants… something I won’t be able to do again this year.

For education this week… organization skills, and learning Spanish. Plus writing assignments and home ed.

A keeper at home skill I am using/learning… still trying to furnish my bread baking skills. I still can’t make a loaf without a hole in the middle, though its still edible. Drat…

A spiritual lesson I’m learning… how to lean on His understanding, and not my own in times that guidance is needed. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart; do not rely on your own understanding.

A godly character trait I plan to work on… Speaking kindly and wisely to people – Proverbs 31:26 When she opens her mouth, she speaks wisely; on her tongue is loving instruction.

Scripture I am memorizing… Psalm 119:1-7

1(Alef) How happy are those whose way of life is blameless, who live by the Torah of ADONAI! 2 How happy are those who observe his instruction, who seek him wholeheartedly! 3 They do nothing wrong but live by his ways. 4 You laid down your precepts for us to observe with care. 5 May my ways be steady in observing your laws. 6 Then I will not be put to shame, since I will have fixed my sight on all your mitzvot. 7 I thank you with a sincere heart as I learn your righteous rulings. 8 I will observe your laws; don’t completely abandon me!

I’m praying for… my family. Will you pray too?

For the rest of the week… get stuff organized, get things we don’t need outta here, get back to getting up at a decent time, get the house done and finished, bake bread for the whole week, get going with my school again, even amidst the all the confusion, and finish up some writing/stories works. Probably lots more to do as the week progresses.

A picture I’d like to share… our Shabbat candles and the challah bread a few Shabbats ago. :)
