Hot Cocoa To Warm You

With the weather getting cold, a nice cup of something warm is always appreciated! I love hot cocoa. Adding a little cinnamon (and maybe a few chocolate chips!) is always a fun thing to add to the wonderful taste of homemade hot cocoa. Simply follow this recipe and you will have yourself (and whoever else wants some too) a lovely cup of yummy hot cocoa!

Hot Cocoa
1/3 cup of sugar
1/3 cup of cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups of water
4 1/2 cups of milk

Mix sugar, cocoa and salt in a 2 quart heavy-bottomed saucepan; add water. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. When boiling, add milk and heat just enough to warm. Serve warm in mugs with a dollop of whipped topping on top.

Adding a peppermint or cinnamon stick is also a neat thing to do. You can also add some vanilla to it. I will try to post the recipe for hot chocolate for those of you who enjoy making that. I am thinking of making some myself.

Hope you all enjoy the recipe. It’s a wonderful warmer if you don’t want coffee, but don’t feel like hot tea tonight!
