Okay so I didn’t have a really tricky title for this blog. My niece Amanda aka superangel has been on my case; well so has my sister (her mother) Jacque aka Walking Therein about blogging more…come to think of it so has Jocelyn aka A Pondering Heart. Wow I sure have some pushy blog family! It’s not really fair for me to leave out my dear sweet momma Judi aka Starr Salon. I think they have been the ones to push me to blog more…my niece Rachel aka Milk and Honey Tea Room has only been suggestive for the most part
Anyway enough of me pushing the blame; haha as if there is really any blame to push.
I have decided to write a post about “My Business”. You may already have thoughts as to what may be behind the title of this post. Are you curious? All of those named above do indeed know what business I am referring to. I have a confession to make though, this is really not my business! I may order product, sell product, give away product (oh boy
); and yet it’s not my business.
The truth is about 7 or so years ago, my husband and I moved to a small town in Colorado. My husband was answering the call to the Lord’s ministry as a Worship Pastor and this was our first adventure into full time ministry. The ministry we served in there is a whole nother post people! Praise God!
I soon found out once we were moved in that the people there were very sweet. The town itself was really ver quaint and I loved meeting/befriending all the people. I believe God had been training me up for years to make me that way; with the love of people.
When I was younger around my teenage years I was somewhat shy…( I am not kidding) and it was difficult to really stretch myself and meet new people; at that time God grew me and showed me when I was not being open and friendly. Gently, and lovingly God used me back then to bring others to him through a business that I felt He wanted me to start. That business was Mary Kay Cosmetics. Hasn’t everyone sold Mary Kay? oh btw that is NOT “MY Business” oh and we’ve already learned that it’s not MY Business anyway! When I began Mary Kay, wow I think I was just out of High School …probably around 20 years old. I felt the Lord leading me to connect to other women, my age and younger mostly. It ended up that most of my clients were all ages, but I felt God calling me to minister through this business. I don’t refer to Mary Kay as My Business because I truly prayed for God to be the Lord over it. It was His business. Now let me stop right here, cuz I really feel like people now a days think everything is their on stinking business….am I right? Guess what brothers and sisters if you are HIS then YOUR business isn’t YOURS….You gave it to Him when you took upon His name and His identity. Thank You Lord! Aren’t you so blessed to know that You are HIS.
Okay, so this is the whole reason I didn’t want to blog, my writing skills are right out the window. But since I am writing….about my business on my blog I must realize that everything in my life is included in whatsoever…whatsoever meaning…whatsoever is mine is actually HIS my saviors, I belong to Jesus and all I have belongs to Him. See it’s really rather simple when you stop and think about it. The problem is…in todays world we just don’t want to think about it! So this blog is UNTO the LORD. Help me Lord to proof read this and make it all You want it to be!
So back to my earlier thought about the Mary Kay business God lead me to. He had given me a task to befriend women and allow Him to work through me as a part of ministry. As I had Mary Kay Classes I began to build friendships and allow God to use me every step of the way. After I moved to Colorado I felt there was a change coming. I learned that in the new church we came to be Worship Pastors at there were already 2 other women selling Mary Kay. I spoke to them and we all got along very well; but the church was rather small for 3 bold Mary Kay Cosmetic sellers…even though we all had the “go give spirit”. In Mary Kay having the “go give spirit” meant your attitude would be toward other Consultants just like the bibles says preferring one another over yourself. So even though we were all willing to share this small community I felt God had something different in mind for me plus I had been a consultant for over six years by then.
Through my Mary Kay era God showed me how women today have been given the wrong impression of beauty. Which is why I absolutely love my niece Jocelyn’s new blog at www.feelinfeminine.com. This blog site is already changing lives; and I have no doubt God will use it and those associated with it for His Glory.
Since this worlds impression of beauty is so distorted God impressed upon me how I could show the beauty of the Lord to the women He put in my life through this business. I feel I did listen to the Lord and was able to show many women how beautiful they were not just on the outside but the beauty that God has created in each one of them.
After I had been in Colorado for about 4 months I knew where God was leading me to start His Business
I had looked at a few opportunities and still worked the regular 9-5 job but I knew there was something else He had planned. An opportunity for not only ministry but relaxation, enjoyment and the ability to fellowship without feeling like there had to be a 3 part sermon bible study going on. Once again I felt God showing me an amazing example of how we as women look at our worth in a distorted way. God lead me to begin a business with Home Interiors helping women to enjoy their homes. It is amazing to me how different my outlook on life has really changed just in the past 2 or 3 years. I have been around a spirit of money, greed and “gotta have it” attitude! Which honestly I am not used to. I am very thankful that I grew up in a family where wealth was not of huge importance. I mean it’s not like we ate off the floor or anything…except for the 5 sec rule of course
I just mean we had what we needed not a whole lot more and we always had enough. If we didn’t have enough I never knew about it. I never felt jipped. So as I got married I carried those thoughts into my marriage; which you know my hubby didn’t grow up exactly the same cuz God just doesn’at work that way… no He has to make us different! We are not that much different on that subject though. My husband is the most giving man I know, honestly…well next to Jesus that is
.
I sure hope you all are still reading, I feel like I shoulda made a part 2 so you don’t fall asleep or decide to click on one of the sidebar links before I finish. Anyhoo, the Home Interiors business that God and I are working together is a lot of fun. I have had parties, open houses, shows, booths, Fundraisers, and I have been blessed, blessed, blessed. Is it a huge money maker for me? Honestly, I am not in it for the money. If I was I wouldn’t be able to really call myself a stay at home wife now would I? HAHA I am in it for the fellowship and the ability to serve my God in the way He has called me. I am able to give women a sense of desire to Love being in their home. I have learned that with just a few suggestions sometimes adding a picture here even just a candle in this room. Sometimes it takes going over to their house and teaching them how to clean it up! Whatever God wants me to do, I say “Lord here I am send me”. Oh and He does! Sometimes, he sends me right into my own kitchen to get the dishes done but either way…I will go!
So for now I will go and leave you with some exciting news I just started my own Home Interiors Website you can check it out for yourself! I am also very excited the Lord has given me opportunity to help my sister’s family with a fundraiser through Home Interiors Fundraising Program to help them get supplies, computers, books or whatever they need this year for Homeschooling. Please check out this link to for Dixon Christian Academy’s Fundraiser
. You can also look at products for the fundraiser on my website.
I thank you for reading and pray God has blessed you in some way as you read. I pray for you the fragrance of Christ as you be about the Master’s Business.

This is an amazing chapter in Ephesians, which I have only put a few verses but you should really check out the whole chapter.
Ephesians 3:19-21
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 20Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Blessings,

Hey – you know what? When I started writing it was soooo lame and I got like 1 comment MAYBE so don’t feel bad about your writing skills. Practice makes perfect and I have enjoyed getting to blog with you! God will use you with this blog. :0)
I’m so glad that you’re staying home, doing Home Interiors, and setting an example of a homekeeper. Several times this week, for some reason, I have responded to post saying that Jesus’ greatest example was how he lived, spoke, and prayed, and that’s how we must strive to be a witness for him.
Love you lots and so cool you got a HI website… can I make you a button to put on your sidebar to link to it?
Missing you and hope Uncle A is doing better!!!

I’m so glad you dropped by. Am enjoying your blog, and have already heard/read about you between your sister’s blog and Miss A and Miss J’s.
