A few plans for the Rest of the Week: Stop procrastinating and go to Curves.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing:

This picture was taken today outside our front window. At the beginning of August Pastor Shawn came to our house with some Cannis bulbs from his yard and started digging.  He told me he had some that needed replanting because these plants have a bad habit of growing in excess with just a few planted.  He let me know that since he was replanting them late that there was a very slight chance that they would really grow much or bloom.  WHOOOOWEEE Look at them grow…  I’m not sure if maybe they didn’t get the memo that it was late in the season or what?  More than just these two have actually bloomed and another was about to open maybe tomorrow.  We had quite a bit of rain last month right after they were planted and I think that really helped them get some good roots.  He planted 7 to begin with, I believe and now there are about 18 and only one died :)   I thought that was pretty fantastic.  He transplanted some for 2 other people last year and they died immediately but grew up this spring which is why he said dont’ be surprized if they all die.  I asked him if I needed to do anything to them and he said no I have never watered mine on a consistent basis just whatever they get naturally they will grow like crazy.  BUT, I actually watered them every day for about the first 4 days and I haven’t watered them since. I am very excited to have them.  It’s quite a miracle to me they way things grow and I have never had anything that I actually grew myself.  I know they were transplanted but it’s still amazing none the less.

Thanks for sharing your time with me, I enjoy sharing and letting you know what is going on here in little Hobbs, NM.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing:

This picture was taken this year on Mother’s Day.  When my mom and I went for a visit up to Indiana.

I don’t think there’s an ability for men to understand *(my brother Dave in the back) when it comes to the Starr Women! From left to right front row My sister Jacque, my sweet mother Judi and Me.  When we are together there are rarely dull moments. Most of the time we are cracking up at each other at something hilarious or nothing at all.

Saturday Psalm & Praise ~ Delight in the Lord ~

Author: Aunt_Jen  //  Category: Saturday Psalm & Praise

.

As I sit here amazed and so thankful to the Lord for His unfailing love and compassion I am in awe!

Earlier this evening I had dinner with Oralia, a friend of mine. Whenever we get together we love to talk about what the Lord has been speaking to us.  What a wonderful person she is and I’m so thankful the Lord saw fit to bring us together as friends.  She has such a deep love for the Lord and longing in her heart to read and know God’s word.  I’m blessed by YOU Lord for such friends to share with about your love and your precious mercy.

What an amazing God we serve! I have been praying today about the weather and storms moving across our country. God is faithful whether we feel his faithfulness or not. God is loving whether we feel IT or not.  He is with us all the time no matter how we feel.  Lord I think you that we can trust you in the rain or in the sunshine; in the sunlit sky or in the cloudy storm. I said this in another SP&P and I’ll say it again: there have been many times I have felt crushed under the weight of the enemy and at the moment I needed my Savior He indeed was present for my rescue.  Do you need rescuing today?  When we cry out to God He answers us.  I was reading earlier today in an email about our culture today, how we use our cell phones to call our friends, text them, even twitter them.  We do these things w/o a second thought of necessity, yet when we have a spare moment do we think to tell the Lord how gracious He is?  Do we take that 5 minutes to say, “Lord, I am amazed by your beauty in the world you have created”?  Do we pray for our loved ones?  More so,  I believe we need to exalt the Lord but we do need to share our burdens with Him as well.  Instead of NOT asking the Lord for help because we feel guilty that we haven’t spent time with him lately, spend time with him ALL the time.  Make Him the LORD over every area of your life all the time; not just those moments you THINK are in need of a Savior! I need thee every Hour Lord! Every moment! I love the song, “How Great is our God”…..and how it says, “SING WITH ME” “How great is our God”!  He is Great!  Lord You are Great!

I heard a song some years back and it blesses me whenever I sing it!  I couldn’t find it on playlist, godtube or youtube :( so I will just put the words; maybe sometime I can record it and get it to work on the playlist. It is really beautiful.

Delight In the Lord

I delight in the Lord with all my might all my heart and soul
I delight in the Lord with all my might all my heart and soul

And as I wait upon the Lord, I grow stronger
And as I wait upon the Lord, I grow stronger
And as I wait upon the Lord, I grow stronger everyday.

The word of God speaks of delighting in the Lord and also of waiting upon the Lord.  Here are some scriptures of blessing and promise I pray they give you strength as you wait upon the Lord!

Psalm 37:9
For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Zephaniah 3:8
Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

Psalm 22:8
“He trusts in the LORD; let the LORD rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him.”

Psalm 37:4
Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Psalm 112:1
Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

Lord we delight in you as we worship and praise an extraordinary Creator and Father !

Love to all as you Delight in the Lord!

Saturday Psalm & Praise ~ He is Holy ~

Author: Aunt_Jen  //  Category: Saturday Psalm & Praise

.

Lately I have been in a bit of a wonder. A wonder minded world of my own.  Well not all on my own I have been sharing my thoughts and wonder with the Lord.  Today I am in awe; awe of how small I really am and how huge God is.  The awe that makes your eyes open wide and you want to cry as you think wow, “God the Father gave His Only Son for me”!  I am quite amazed at God’s Love.  I sit here speechless, well not completely (obviously) but my mind just keeps pausing as I question why God loves us so much.  We have done nothing worthy of this Love.  We cannot earn this love.  We definitely don’t deserve this love.

Oh God, You are magnificent, amazing, I can’t even think of words that fully describe the majesty of our God!  I must say the word that has been on my mind lately is “Holy”.  A small word but there is so much to it.  As I strive for the holiness that my Savior IS, I then feel very inadequate. Praise God that we don’t “go” by our feelings.  The word of God declares “Be Ye Holy, for I am Holy” 1 Peter 1:16.

Father, You are worthy of praise not for things you’ve done, but because you are God; You are Holy!

This scripture speaks of the Holy God that I love.

Psalm 99

1 The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.

2 The LORD is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people.

3 Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.

4 The king’s strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.

5 Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.

6 Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them.

7 He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.

8 Thou answeredst them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.

9 Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

I had not posted about my Bible Reading Challenge by Rachel since the first week, so I wanted to add during my SP&P that I am enjoying the Book of Psalms and this post is in part due to my BRC daily journey.

I know many of you have still been praying for the Drews family and we must continue to do so.  They need prayer warriors to lift them up and stand in prayer for them.

Love to all as you Worship and Praise our Holy God!

Happy Anniversary Adrian and Jen!!

Author: Jacque  //  Category: Family, My Sweetie and Me, Prayers and Praise

It is with great love and honour I write this! Of course, I am 1/2 a day late (but you all know that is just me, don’t you!! LOL)

I want to say Happy Anniversary to two very sweet and special people to me. I can’t believe it has already been 9 years, can you??

Adrian and Jennifer are a sweet picture of husband and wife and an inspiration of love in marriage. Adrian and Jennifer were such good friends in high school and God brought them together for His purpose in marriage, even though I think they least expected it. Unfortunately I did not get to be around them as a couple – um… hardly ever! And not before they were married. I didn’t get to go to their wedding (and yes, I regret that now!) Besides, I never did get a wedding picture! So, you will have to put one on her Jen.

I sure wish I could be there today with you all. I would love to go out to dinner, just you both and Matt and me. (Grandma could watch the Littles with the big girls!)

We were blessed to be able to spend time with Adrian and Jen in June in Las Cruces and also at their home. It was such a great time, and we will never forget it.

We love you both, and we hope today will be so very blessed for you both!!

LOVE and HUGS!!

Jacque Sig

I added a few pics from our special day!

Simple Woman’s Daybook #3

FOR TODAY: September 1, 2008

Outside my window…much road and desert!

I am thinking…I am working on a NEW ATTITUDE!

I am thankful…that God is the center of my life!

From the Kitchen…Well since I was in Las Cruces today the only kitchen I saw was my MIL’s and she made some amazing caldillo and meat w/potatoes for burritos…mmmmmm she is an awesome cook!

I am wearing…a pink striped shirt and my black gouchos.

I am creating…an excell spread sheet for my daily to do list that I have on paper!

I am going…back home to Hobbs with my hubby and a sweet little chihuahua puppy for a friend.

I am reading…in the book Psalms.

I am hoping…I can accomplish more this week with my new daily to do chart!

I am hearing…a sermon by Lindell Cooley from Grace Church in Tennessee on a Podcast.

Around the house…
My doggies and kitty are sure waiting for us to arrive at home!

One of my favorite things…
Spending time with family.  Our quick trip to Cruces was WAY too short; but I am thankful I got to spend time with my inlaws and my mama!  Wishing I coulda been in INDIANA :(

A few plans for the Rest of the Week: Doing some laundry and anything and everything on my to do list!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing:

This picture was taken yesterday while we were on our way to Las Cruces, NM.  I know it’s not the best pic but I wish I could show you what I actually saw.  This pic of the Guadalupe Mountains which is in Texas between Carlsbad, NM and El Paso, TX caught my eye like never before.  My husband and I have been through these mountains at least 25 times in the past 3+ years and I have NEVER seen this figure I saw on Sunday.  To me it looks like the face of a child, a little girl… as I said we have been though this area so many times and have never noticed or seen it look so vividly like an image.  One thing that has brought to my mind is concerning the bible; so many times I have looked though the scriptures and not heard or noticed anything that opened my eyes which I think is sad considering the word of God is LIFE!  As we traveled down the road on Sunday I remember telling my hubby wow, look at the clouds aren’t they amazing!  I love to look at them and in some places it was stormy looking and I even said out loud I wonder what it’s like up in that cloud.  I mention that to say this, my mind was totally “fixed” on nature what was going on outside and everywhere I looked I noticed something I hadn’t noticed before. I believe that is why I saw an image on the mountain; which I will look for next time we pass that way :)   So as for the bible I plan on purposing  to notice each and every part so that God can show me whatever image He has for my life in that moment.  Ask God what He wants to show you today!
