I wanted to share a pic of the Cannis that are starting to grown outside me front window.  Yesterday I went outside and raked around them and dug up some weeds it looks much better now.  It reminded me of last summer when my sister and her family came to visit and that area was bare…I wish she could see IRL what it looks like. Well thank goodness for the internet and pictures online:)
Ok I wanted to share one more pic of the 11 month old little boy that I take care of everyday, his name is Danny Ray …he is so sweet!….When you tell him “Be a sweet baby”  He lays his head down like this.

Protect Your Children Online!

Author: Aunt_Jen  //  Category: Uncategorized

How do you Protect Your Children Online? is the question Pensieve asks on her post: Wanna win the “funnest iPod ever”? Touch this!. It is simple to enter. You can read her great review of Norton Online Family and let her know what you do to protect your children online.

Of course, I would LOVE to win the iPod touch, but online safety from internet p*rnography, even in subtleties, is SO IMPORTANT for our children and families. God wants us to be pure. The world is corrupt, and the enemy will use every opportunity of our lax to ensnare our children. These things harm our children and scar them for their lives, and we must protect them from it. We must protect them and teach them the right ways.

There are a few ways to win, and the contest ends Sunday, February 22nd at 11:59 p.m. (PST)

Thanks for this awesome opportunity Robin!

Saturday Psalm & Praise – Unto Thee O Lord!

Author: Aunt_Jen  //  Category: Saturday Psalm & Praise

.

.

For the past few months I have really enjoyed getting to know and reacquaint myself with old friends and family members through my Facebook ! This past week a friend from school asked for prayer.  Even though I don’t know the circumstances she is going through right now or the reasons she needs prayer, I know God our Heavenly Father knows every detail!  I like to add scripture to my FBook wall and the other day this same friend said she enjoyed reading the scripture and told me that a certain scripture really touched her heart!  That passage is below from Psalm 25.

Psalm 25

1 Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. 2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. 6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. 7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD. 8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. 9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. 10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. 11 For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great. 12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. 13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth. 14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. 15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.  16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.  17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses. 18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins. 19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred. 20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee. 21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.  22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

I read this passage and prayed again for my friend and I believe God is doing a work in her, drawing her closer to Him.  The first couple verses remind me of a song I learned many years ago.  Which as you can tell comes straight from scripture.

Unto Thee O Lord

Unto Thee O Lord (Unto Thee O Lord), do I lift up my soul (do I lift up my soul)

Unto Thee O Lord (Unto Thee O Lord), do I lift up my soul (do I lift up my soul)

O my God (O my God) I trust in Thee (I trust in Thee)

I will not be ashamed,  don’t let my enemies triumph over me!

That is my prayer today ~ Whatever I do….in all things, Lord I do them Unto You, for your glory that you may be exalted!  My God I put my trust in YOU!  I am NOT ashamed and my enemies will NOT triumph over me!

That is my prayer for you friends, brothers and sisters in Christ that in all things you do…do them Unto the Lord, putting your faith, your trust in HIM, not being ashamed and letting God crush your enemies!

Blessings, grace and peace to you!

Happy 20th Anniversary Sis!

Happy 20th Anniversary Matt & Jacque !  We Love you!

Jacque & Matt

Taken a few years ago while I visited IN.

Matt & Jacque

Taken @ Luz’s (my MIL’s) during their vacation in June 08

This is the comment I left over at Amanda’s blog

Amanda you are right it is a God Thing….I don’t know if you have even heard some of the stories leading up to your momma and daddy’s wedding…I recall some tough days prior to the big day…and I know there have been Huge challenges along the way, as you can be guaranteed in this day and age! God has been binding them together since the beginning!

Matt, Sis I am to thankful and blessed to have a sister and BIL and I don’t say that lightly. I know many people who have family they wish didn’t belong to them…Even though trials and having to work through situations I have NEVER, EVER felt that way with either of you. I love you both, I know how I felt in Sept realizing the blessing of nine years with Adrian. You two have gone twice as long and through twice as much good and bad but I am so grateful that Our Amazing God has such a miraculous way of teaching us if we let Him. I see tremendous growth in each of you.

Matt, I loved it when we lived near each other, you have such wisdom and understanding of the Lord and I miss hearing your heart on a more consistent basis. Sis, I miss your hugs and your laugh, your friendship, hearing your voice everyday! I’m so thankful for our relationship in the Lord. I could not have asked for a better sister than you!

Many more years of blessing as the Lord wills, by the way….thank you both for the 8 blessings you have given this Auntie and Uncle!

Saturday Psalm & Praise – I Know Who Holds Tomorrow!

Author: Aunt_Jen  //  Category: Saturday Psalm & Praise

.

I Know

Who Holds Tomorrow

words and music by Ira Stanphill

    I don't know about tomorrow;
I just live from day to day.
I don't borrow from its sunshine
For its skies may turn to grey.
    I don't worry o'er the future,
For I know what Jesus said.
And today I'll walk beside Him,
For He knows what is ahead.

    (Chorus:)
    Many things about tomorrow
    I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand.

    Every step is getting brighter
    As the golden stairs I climb;
    Every burden's getting lighter,
    Every cloud is silver-lined.
There the sun is always shining,
    There no tear will dim the eye;
At the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains touch the sky.

    I don't know about tomorrow;
    It may bring me poverty.
But the one who feeds the sparrow,
Is the one who stands by me.
And the path that is my portion
    May be through the flame or flood;
But His presence goes before me
And I'm covered with His blood.

I am so thankful that I know the Lord; who He is what he has done for all mankind and that He has a plan. I may not know what tomorrow brings but I know, YES I know who holds tomorrow and He also holds my hand.

I have been reading in the gospels lately remembering all the Savior has done for children of God.  I have been looking into his parables and the lessons he taught his disciples.  So many things in scripture we just pass over and neglect in our daily walk.  Here is some scripture from Matthew where Jesus is telling his disciples not to worry.  I’m not sure if this scripture made me think of this song or the other way around but either way. I’m not worried about tomorrow!

Matthew 6:25-34 (King James Version)

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

I am doing my best to seek the Lord and let God take care of the rest but it is a daily process….lets take up the cross each day and follow Him!

Blessings to you,

Simple Woman’s Daybook #9

Author: Aunt_Jen  //  Category: Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY: October 21, 2008

Outside my window… Thunder banging since early this morning…I guess around 7AM!  Finally, at 1PM the rain poured down and I was sad that I hadn’t taken a picture of the Cannis outside my window. Especially since it did work so hard after Fall began (even without the forecasted snow last week) to sprout up through the ground and make it’s beautiful flower.

I am thinking…~What an amazing God we have that knows the thoughts and intents of our heart…even when we can’t even figure ourselves out?

I am thankful…that He does! ~ I’m also thankful that my hubby has really been helping with the budget..well helping me stick to our food envelope for the month!

From the Kitchen… I am making a list to go grocery shopping ….and really wishing Amanda and I could go together :(

I am wearing… A comfy dress, barefoot & very, very sleepy since I was unable to sleep AT ALL last night…I was up on the couch when hubby got up and he freaked out…to say the least :)

I am creating… Little piles everywhere….and I hate that…I really need to QUIT! grrr

I am going… to need so focus harder on getting stuff done this weekincluding picking up all my piles and getting everything put where it belongs..even if it ends up being the trash….HAHAHA

I am reading…Bad Girls of the Bible/Love Dare and in Isaiah.

I am believing… God for miracles in my life and trying hard to let Him decide what those miracles should be.

I am hearing… quiet…well except for my fingers on the keys…hehe

Around the house…
I have things to do this week: laundry, filing, bills, dishes…thankful I already vaccuumed did some laundry and cleaned up the bathroom, livingroom, bedroom, and music room!

One of my favorite things…
Having time to sit and think…enjoying God, enjoying life!

A few plans for the Rest of the Week: Let go and Let GOD!

Just like my statement above…Let Go and Let God…  These Cannis must do just that!  They must depend on God as their source and understand that whatever God decides is what they need at the time..is what they shall receive.  I long to have faith like that.  In the first picture I made sure I showed not only the flowers that are blooming today but also the ones that were blooming a few weeks ago, that are now dead.  I thought the other day, some of the plants that bloomed were part of the stalk that was planted to begin with a long bulb that I had to make sure didn’t lean and fall over.  I made sure it was rooted properly, but these Cannis that are budding now aren’t from the original bulb they grew all the way from under the ground.  I believe that is what is making them so strong and able to still be blooming in the latter part of October.  When we live through adversity it can make us very strong, but if all we do is complain all the time and get mad at God for not allowing us to have it our way.  Later on when we need to be strong we find we are still weak and need milk instead of the meat God had planned for us.

I hope this wasn’t to much of a ramble….It sure helped me sort some things out….blessings in HIM!

Thanks for stopping by…I pray that you believe in the Promises of God. I enjoy sharing and letting you know what is going on with me.

Saturday Psalm & Praise ~Who May Ascend~

Author: Aunt_Jen  //  Category: Saturday Psalm & Praise

.

.

As I looked through music tonight a worship song caught my eye that has brought me to my knees many times.  It reminds me of how huge God is and how very small I am.  How able God is and how much He longs for me to trust that he is ABLE!  This song comes from a portion of scripture that describes the awesome  greatness of our God!

.

Psalm 24

1 The earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?

4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.

7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

I wish I could have found this song so you could listen to it…it is beautiful!

Who May Ascend

verse 1

Who may ascend, the hill of the Lord

Who may be found in Your Holy Place

Only those who are clean and pure in their hearts

Can make it to where You are

Chorus

So do what You will, do what You want

We have decided to trust You only

And we want to be whatever You’re wanting

You are the Lord of our lives

verse 2

Who may ascend, the hill of the Lord

Who may be found in Your Holy Place

Only those who refuse to lift up their hearts

To anything else but You…

Bridge *(my favorite part)

Lord not my will but Your will, let this be my cry (4x’s)

Recently, I have been looking at things without full trusting God as my source.  Sometimes we think we are the source or our spouse, our family, our church, our friends….when there is NO OTHER source but the One true God!  He has created this earth and the fullness thereof…we are part of that fullness!  How silly for us to think that Almighty God is not in total control of His own creation.  Therefore,  I shall lift up my head unto the Lord and trust Him with all my heart for everything I have need of….He knows it all anyway!

Blessings in Him,

Simple Woman’s Daybook #7

Author: Aunt_Jen  //  Category: Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY: October 7, 2008 Tuesday…still better late than never :)

Outside my window… My pretty Cannis are dying off :( I saw the grass beginning to look brown and the trees are losing their leaves!

I am thinking…~my tiredness is most likely from a lack of exercise more than a lack of sleep.

I am thankful…that God always has plans that are to prosper us and not to harm us!

From the Kitchen… I am so blessed to have some fresh vegetables from a man at another church we visited on Sunday night. I’m in awe of God’s creativity on how to help me with my dieting…

I am wearing…my sweat outfit getting ready for bed!

I am creating…a mess LOL!

I am going… to get back on my schedule for cleaning the house!

I am reading… in Isaiah :)

I am believing… God will make a way for our family to be together very soon.

I am hearing… my playlist from my Facebook wall.

Around the house…
I am working on overflowing laundry and getting my music room in order…a filing system for all our sheet music…..OH BOY!

One of my favorite things…
Hearing about the blessing of the Lord from family and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ!

A few plans for the Rest of the Week: Let go and Let GOD!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing:

Mom and Dave dropped this off at our house on their way to Indiana.  It looks beautiful in my Home Interior room maybe some day I’ll put it in the Living Room, but I don’t feel like moving all my furniture around. I think it fits quite nicely in there right now anyway!

Thanks for stopping by…I pray that you believe in the Promises of God. I enjoy sharing and letting you know what is going on with me.

Saturday Psalm & Praise ~ At the Cross ~

Author: Aunt_Jen  //  Category: Saturday Psalm & Praise

.

How do I love thee Lord; let me count the ways.  I cannot bless the Lord enough for his worth.  He is worthy of reverence, honor, glory, praise…I could go on.  Yet in my own selfishness there are times I forgot to do as the scripture says.

Leviticus 19:2
Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Yeholy: for I the LORD your God am holy.

1 Peter 1:15-16
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Even though I do not live holy 100% of the time does not mean I’m not striving for it!  I am so thankful there is such a man that did live HOLY 100% of the time when he walked this earth as a man.

2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Thanks be to God that he knew we needed a Saviour!  Each one of us needs Jesus whether we are able to live life and endure the things of this earth; seemingly without a Saviour…we still need him.  We cannot see Heaven without Jesus…he is the only bridge for each of us to see our Heavenly Father.

Romans 3:23-24
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

At The Cross

by Hillsong

Oh Lord You’ve searched me You know my way
Even when I fail You I know You love me

Your holy presence Surrounding me
In every season I know You love me I know You love me

At the cross I bow my knee where Your blood was shed for me
There’s no greater love than this
You have overcome the grave Your glory fills the highest place
What can separate me now

You go before me You shield my way
Your hand upholds me I know You love me

You tore the veil You made a way
When You said that it is done

And when the earth fades Falls from my eyes
And You stand before me I know You love me I know You love me

Lord I bow before you at the cross and thank you for your amazing sacrifice for me…for the whole world.

One of my favorite things…
Singing to the Lord of His Greatness!

A few plans for the Rest of the Week: Stop procrastinating and go to Curves.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing:

This picture was taken today outside our front window. At the beginning of August Pastor Shawn came to our house with some Cannis bulbs from his yard and started digging.  He told me he had some that needed replanting because these plants have a bad habit of growing in excess with just a few planted.  He let me know that since he was replanting them late that there was a very slight chance that they would really grow much or bloom.  WHOOOOWEEE Look at them grow…  I’m not sure if maybe they didn’t get the memo that it was late in the season or what?  More than just these two have actually bloomed and another was about to open maybe tomorrow.  We had quite a bit of rain last month right after they were planted and I think that really helped them get some good roots.  He planted 7 to begin with, I believe and now there are about 18 and only one died :)   I thought that was pretty fantastic.  He transplanted some for 2 other people last year and they died immediately but grew up this spring which is why he said dont’ be surprized if they all die.  I asked him if I needed to do anything to them and he said no I have never watered mine on a consistent basis just whatever they get naturally they will grow like crazy.  BUT, I actually watered them every day for about the first 4 days and I haven’t watered them since. I am very excited to have them.  It’s quite a miracle to me they way things grow and I have never had anything that I actually grew myself.  I know they were transplanted but it’s still amazing none the less.

Thanks for sharing your time with me, I enjoy sharing and letting you know what is going on here in little Hobbs, NM.

One of my favorite things…
Spending time with the Lord and getting into His presence.

A few plans for the Rest of the Week: Getting back on schedule and going to the Curves down the road to get a membership.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing:

This picture was taken this year on Mother’s Day.  When my mom and I went for a visit up to Indiana.

I don’t think there’s an ability for men to understand *(my brother Dave in the back) when it comes to the Starr Women! From left to right front row My sister Jacque, my sweet mother Judi and Me.  When we are together there are rarely dull moments. Most of the time we are cracking up at each other at something hilarious or nothing at all.
